CANTON, MA – Arlington Rugby Club had a good showing this weekend at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton. The U14s finished in third place, with first year John O’Connor leading the scoring charge touching down 8 of Arlington’s 24 tries over the course of the day. After dropping a physical match against NERC. the U14s bounced back to record the first win of the day, pulling ahead in the final minutes against a determined Wrentham Barbarians side. A loss against tournament host, the Wolfhounds, would knock them out of contention and set up a rematch for third place against Wrentham.
Meanwhile, in the flag division, The U12’s saw some success as well, taking a few of their own games, but ultimately losing a tough fought match against NERC to finish out the day. Arlington’s U10’s went undefeated once again to gain top honors, rounding out their Spring campaign.
No matter the scores, it was a great day for youth rugby.
